Vision, Mission & Objectives

Guiding principles of the national temple-trust federation movement

Our Vision

A united temple ecosystem where every Hindu temple is autonomous, well-governed, culturally vibrant, and legally protected — serving as a living custodian of India's civilizational heritage for generations to come.

Our Mission

Five pillars guiding our work to protect, unite, and empower Hindu temples across India

Unite Temple Trusts

Build a democratic, federated network giving every temple — from the smallest village shrine to the largest urban devasthan — a collective voice in governance, policy, and heritage.

Advocate Legal Reform

Campaign for legislative changes that protect temple properties from encroachment, exempt trusts from unfair taxation, and free Hindu temples from discriminatory government control.

Promote Cultural Standards

Encourage temples to preserve sacred dress codes, Vedic rituals, Sanskrit education, and architectural authenticity, ensuring the spiritual character of temple spaces is maintained.

Protect Temple Lands

Provide legal aid, documentation support, and advocacy to prevent encroachment on temple-owned properties, and work toward centralized digital registries of all temple lands.

Modernize Temple Management

Equip trustees with modern management tools, financial transparency, digital record-keeping, and professional training while preserving the sacred traditions of temple governance.

Core Objectives

The six pillars that drive our work

Temple Governance Reform

Establish the Sanatan Mandal model of democratic, transparent, and community-driven temple administration. Advocate for elected temple committees and freedom from government control of Hindu temples.

Cultural Preservation

Promote temple dress codes, traditional rituals, Sanskrit education, and architectural authenticity. The National Dress Code Movement with 2,400+ participating temples exemplifies this commitment to restoring temple sanctity.

Legal Protection

Fight temple land grabbing through legal aid clinics, property documentation drives, and advocacy for anti-encroachment legislation. Our campaign has already reclaimed or protected 47 temple properties in Maharashtra.

Temple Unity

Build a pan-India federation model connecting temple trusts at the national, state, and district levels. Through Parishads and Adhiveshans, create democratic forums where temples of all sizes have equal voice and representation.

Digital Modernization

Leverage technology to create a national Digital Temple Directory, online registration systems, digital property records, and temple management tools — bringing India's ancient temple ecosystem into the modern era without compromising sacred traditions.

Capacity Building

Train temple trustees, administrators, and priests through workshops on governance, financial management, legal compliance, and heritage conservation. Our pujari welfare initiative advocates for pension, health insurance, and professional development for temple priests.
